I am not sure how many years it has been since my mother was in the kitchen cooking a Thanksgiving dinner for me and my siblings but this year she is and it is wonderful. I have missed waking up to the smell of stuffing cooking and Turkey roasting in the oven. Instead of sleeping in I am usually the one in the kitchen at the crack of dawn to begin preparing the feast for my family. Right now I am sitting in my sisters kitchen/office in her big ugly gold chair while the boys are in the living room watching football and the kids are watching movies. It is nice to see and the sounds bring back good memories of Thanksgivings of the past. This year I am Thankful for so many things most of all I am thankful that we are all here together when so many are far from home and far from their families. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of my friends and their fellow soldiers who are deployed right now fighting a war in what seems to be another world away from here. I hope that everyone has a good Thanksgiving with lots of food to eat and love all around you. I am going to enjoy both today.
So I finally started my shopping today. I have a budget plan on how much I will spend on all the little kiddos and then from there I will figure out what I can spend on the rest of the world. I picked up 5 or 6 gifts so I think I am about half way done… well that may be wishful thinking. I also finished G birthday shopping since he had to be born two days after Christmas. I always try to go bigger on the birthday than the holiday so he never feels like the two are clumped together as one. I would have hated that as a kid… what am I talking about I would hate it as an adult also. I talked to the MIL and let her know what exactly to send for the kids. I gave my FIL a hard time and laughed we have one of those love hate relationships. Tomorrow my mother and brother arrive at 10:30 in the morning so I super excited about that. I have a ton of stuff to finish before they arrive and then I will be ready. I guess since there is such a list I really should get off the MAC and go work.
So I just got back from my sisters house were her husband and her decided to give me one of the laptops they used to use since mine is so special. It is so pretty. I am actually sitting her blogging on it right now. The keys are shiny the cover is silver and I think I may leave my husband for it… hehehe… I cannot say it enough times THANKYOU THANK YOU especially BIL for reformatting them for me. It is wonderful and now I will be MAC happy forever (or at least until my next new one). By the way sister the husband is jealous and wants to play and I told him to keep his dirty hand off my MAC
I know I know what is the point of a blog if you never actually use it…. well things have been so busy and with a computer that is slower than my grandmother it gets a little frustrating to try and do anything on here sometimes. I am going to try to do a brief recap of things that have been happening and hopefully I don’t miss any.
Lets see I have been watching a friends two kids for the past week and as much as I love theses little children there are no words to describe what it is like to have five kids three of those being girls 4 and under. They are screechers and yellers and it seems like even their walks have a high pitch sound to it. I am absolutely looking forward to giving them back to their mother and having my home a little less chaotic.
Hubbie just graduated from school in CO which is good because its a pass or fail program and it would have not looked good if he had been sent home early. He is glad to have it finished and under his belt so that he is less stressed out. He should be home in the next couple of days.
My girlfriend Mel her husband Baywatch and anther friend Muscles all took me out last Friday to a place called The RAM and Yellow Beak. At the restaurant the waitress who provided craptastic service assumed that Muscles and I were a couple so I ended up paying for his food (it was the least I cold do since he was so nice to be the DD). We then headed up to the “club” which was more of a redneck bar that played hip-hop and had a dance floor. At first glance I thought what the hell are we doing here and can someone feed me some liqueur but after a couple of smokes and some laughs I started to have a really amazing time. We danced, drank, smoked too much and laughed until my belly hurt. I definalty could handle doing it all again whenever the opportunity presents itself. THANKS AGAIN GUYS
UM lets see what else is going on. My middle one has started Basketball and I was surprised to see that he is actually holding his own. This is his first year playing and when it comes to coordination he is not exactly the most graceful. I cannot wait to see him use some of those skills on the court once his games start.
My sister and her hubby came over to enjoy a portabella mushroom and eggplant dinner courtesy of my neighbor Big John who is a wonderful cook. I actually loved the mushroom enough that I would probably eat it over a burger any day. I told him he has to teach me how to make it now. After dinner we all sat on my back patio and just had a few drinks and enjoyed each other’s company. It was a lot of fun.
My mother and brother should be here on Tuesday. It will be the first time that my mother has been to my house since I moved to this rainy climate they call a state. I am so excited to have her coming because I have spent the last two years trying to guilt her into a visit. To have my brother coming as well is even better. We are all going to drive to my sister’s house in Portland for Turkey Day and have a family dinner. It will be the first time we are all together on T-Day in years and the first time that we will have a Tofurkey with a Turkey… it will be interesting.
I think that is all of the major stuff going on right now…. or at least that is enough to blog about because I have four girls today all under 4 and they have already dumped food… pooped diapers…. and now they are stealing food from each other… and fighting over toys so I have to go be a referee and knock some kids out…(just kidding)
Luv ya
